Jailbreaking iPhone 3G 2.2.1 Firmware

Well, despite the imminent release of the new 3G v3 firmware, I took the plunge and, using QuickPwns 2.2.5-2 release I Jailbreaked my 3G iPhone currently running firmware release 2.2.1
How didi it go? Well, after backing up my iPhone initially through iTunes it was a piece of cake! Only problem I had, once I’d run the installer and had actually Jailbreaked the phone, was when I installed an application off Cydia called LogoMe which I was going to use to customise the power up logos, thing was when I flashed the image (as instructed) the phone suddenly turned into a brick - least thats what I thought! So, I plugged her back in and restored through iTunes and went through the whole process again!
Time consuming, but not a problem.
Phones working the best now, loads of new features, and recommended Cydia applications would be:
- Swirly MMS - costs $8 for the licence but allows sending MMS
- biteSMS - costs £3.95 for a full licence and allows you to delete specific messages in SMS threads, forward SMS
- ABGrouper - allows you to create Groups of your contacts
- Winterboard - so that you can add new themes and much much more!
Interesting to read though what will be in the v3 firmware release.
